Have you ever wondered about how other adopted people feel? Two years ago, I decided to gauge adoptee responses myself. Using GoogleForms, I created a questionnaire specifically designed with adoptees in mind. The form was posted to various adoptee Facebook groups, where I garnered 96 emotional responses from participants worldwide. The details of the questionnaire and its responses will be recorded below. Any personal and/or identifying information has been removed, as I wholeheartedly respect each and every participant’s privacy and story. Uplifting adoptee voices is our group's core mission. To support your fellow adoptees and their stories, share this post to social media!
The form remains active so if you would like to participate, please click here.

At PAC, we understand how lonely it can feel to be an adoptee. We seek to rewrite the narrative on adoption while boldly reclaiming our stories. These responses are the raw and sentimental experiences from 96 adoptees, told with no disclaimers nor apologies. Many written responses convey especially heavy feelings of not belonging, yearning for biological connections, and anger over what has been lost and/or taken from them. Others possess a more positive view on their adoption, reporting that they feel fortunate for their circumstances. Take a moment to soak in the words of adoptees just like you; allow them to breathe life into your experiences through their own beautiful and devastating accounts.
